Tire Maintenance and your Miami Tire Dealer

To get the most out of your tires in Miami, like maximum mileage, safety and wear, you’ll need to properly maintain them. With help from your Miami Tire Store they will educate you on any questions you may have regarding proper maintenance. But don’t worry. It’s not as complicated as it sounds we are here to help with any questions to get the most life and value from your tire purchase.

Tire tread wear: This is the wear rate of the tire, comparable only to other tires within a tire manufacturer’s line. 100 is the baseline grade. Therefore a tire with 200 would theoretically last twice as long on the government’s course compared to a tire with 100. Ask about a tire check drive your car knowing and feeling safe in all types of driving conditions.

Tire Traction: Traction grades are AA, A, B and C. They represent the tire’s ability to stop straight on wet pavement as measure on a specified government track. Any tire rated under C is considered unacceptable for road travel. Michelin again exceeds government requirements.

Temperature: The temperature grades, from highest to lowest, are A, B and C. These represent the tire’s ability to dissipate heat under controlled indoor test conditions which are much more aggressive than normal driving conditions. Any tire rated below C is considered unacceptable.

If you see your tire is worn… There are several ways to check for tire wear: You can either look for visible, excessive wear , you can perform the Penny Test to check proper tread depth, or you can check if the tread is worn down to the wear bar indicators (typically located in the circumferential grooves of the tread). On tires, you can find the location of the wear bar indicators around the tire by looking.

If you find your Tire is damaged… If you find any tire damage, you may be able to determine the damage but to be safe ask your Miami Tire Dealer to inspect your tire. Why? Your tire could have unseen damage on the inside and only a tire professional like us can diagnose the problem accurately.
